Who represents whom?

So it happens again, i think it is the fundamental nature of people, rather i should say, people in positions of responsibility. At the time of elections, all the contestants are almost pleading for votes, but the scenario changes the moment people get elected. The so called 'leaders', forget that they are representing the people, and that their primary obligation is to serve those who have shown confidence in their promises. But it happens again and again and mind you i am not just talking about the politicians and their promises, but it happens even in institutions and colleges. Secretaries and committee chairs are elected after all the melodrama of section, regional and all sorts of politics, and in the end what happens, everyone is probably only bothered about their resume points.
