The Road Less Travelled- Ladakh!

Had been planning this so many years now! In 2009 after I returned from Zurich, I was already in love with the mountains. Wanted to go to the Himalayas especially Ladakh. But as Harry Chapin says "there were planes to catch and bills to pay.."
It did not happen in 2009.

There was a chance to do this in 2010, but as luck would have it, it snowed in June in Ladakh and the roads opened 15 days late. Late enough that i could not go on the Ladakh trip as my b-school classes had started in Indore by then. Summer internship and financial constraints did not help me fulfill the dream of visiting Ladakh in 2011. And 2012 was spent in fighting it out in the new job.

Finally, its in 2013, after four long years when i first thought about the trip, that I am going to Ladakh. The weekend starting with 9th August till 18th August has 2 public holidays (Id and Independence day, in case you are wondering!) and there are two weekends. So, by just taking four days off, I would be enjoying 10 days on bliss in on the road to/of Ladakh!! :) :)

Flight tickets from Kolkata to Chandigarh and Srinagar to Kolkata have been booked (btw-Akbar Travels has the cheapest rate when it comes to flights). With Das, Niloy, Pulkit and Swappy as company, am sure that this is gonna be legen...wait for it..dary! Because somethings are worth the wait!

sass..yaar baaki loog insist kar rahe thay ki 5 loog se jyaada na rakhe.. gaadi etc ka fight hogi types..so could not help it man..

but koi nai..we will go another trip somewhere else! what say?

Continuing from my previous post on Anand Ashram, with each passing day the event was coming closer and the excitement meter was soaring. We discussed on the plans on how to go about it, working on the finer details like the events, the prizes, the co-ordination, the gifts and schedule. Should you join IIM Indore?

Well, I will try to cover certain aspects that will throw some light for future applicants. The Sickle and the Prey..

Finally the 'Prey' is happy and relaxed. The 'Sickle' which had immobilized it all these many years is no more, and the fear of the 'Red' and the 'Monkeys' is finally over. I really wonder what the 'Prey' would have felt all these years, living under the constant threat of its head being chopped-off by the 'Sickle'. To me the arrangement always looked like the 'Butcher' holding his 'Prey' waiting for the right moment to kill. But the helpless prey couldn't even run or complain, as its 'Lady' had sold out to the 'Butcher' and it had to just bear with it, day and night, all these years. However, i think that the 'Prey' had a lucky escape, and the fact that the 'Lady' had finally woken up really inspired the 'Prey' to free itself from the clutches of the dangerous 'Butcher' with a 'Sickle' in one hand and 'Grain' in the other.
